Anxiety, worry, and stress

These are difficult times to be a human. Anxiety has the power to motivate us for change and also cripple us with fear. Anxiety can feel like racing thoughts, constant worry, restlessness, physical tension and so much more. It may feel like you are trapped in worry about the future or the unknown. If you are experiencing anxiety that makes it difficult for you to engage with you life (jobs, friends, activities, etc), it may be beneficial for you to work through this in therapy. Anxiety is rooted in fear and fueled by avoidance. Dr. Fugitt offers Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you learn to interact differently with your thoughts, identity, and the present moment to reduce anxiety and enhance your life and reduce stress.

Anxiety may also show up in the form of obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors or rituals. These can cause significant distress and interfere with your daily functioning. If you find that you are stuck in a cycle of obsessive thinking and ritualizing, Dr. Fugitt is experienced in providing Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) as well as CBT for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder.
