What to expect
Whether you are new to therapy or ready to try something different, therapy does not need to be intimidating or scary. Dr. Fugitt at the Arkansas Center for Evidence-Based Treatment specializes in providing treatment focused on the client’s goals and values within a relationship built on compassion, acceptance, and trust.
1. Reach out and schedule a consultation. We understand that this can be one of the most difficult steps and also believe that you can muster the courage.
2. Yourself and Dr. Fugitt will meet for a 15-minute consultation over the phone or video platform. During this conversation Dr. Fugitt will learn from you about your concerns and hopes for treatment and make sure that she is the best fit to help you reach your goals.
3. You and Dr. Fugitt will work together to develop a treatment plan using her expertise in the science and your expertise on yourself and your symptoms to address the goals you identify. Initial sessions will focus on assessment of symptoms, consideration of goals, and building your treatment plan. These initial sessions are a great time for you to test out worries you might have about therapy and to evaluate your fit with your therapist. Decisions about the length of treatment and frequency of sessions will depend on the nature of your concerns, goals, and schedule. When first beginning therapy weekly meetings are recommend. This provides consistency and adequate time and space to process what is happening in your life. This is flexible depending on your individual needs.
4. Therapy sessions will be scheduled according to the treatment plan to pursue individualized goals. These will continue as long as you and your clinician determine to be helpful.
