Born, raised and educated in Arkansas, Dr. Fugitt has a unique passion for the people in this community. She relies on cutting edge treatment approaches and techniques to help each individual meet their goals for recovery and fulfillment.
Dr. Fugitt is a licensed clinical psychologist (AR 19-02P) with expertise in diagnostic assessment and evidence-based interventions for adults. She specializes in providing evidence-based treatments based on a cognitive behavioral framework.
Dr. Fugitt attended Tulane University for undergraduate training in Psychology and received her Masters and Doctoral degrees from the American Psychological Association (APA) accredited Clinical Psychology doctoral program at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Dr. Fugitt’s doctoral training focused on efforts to advance the treatment of anxiety and substance use disorders considering the influence of individual characteristics like culture, gender, and personal history. Following graduate training, she followed her interest in helping individuals overcome trauma and anxiety as a clinical psychologist in a hospital setting. Currently, Dr. Fugitt is serves as a Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychological Science and the Director of the Psychology Training Clinic at the University of Arkansas to provide training to students and community support while maintaining an active practice at the Arkansas Center for Evidence-Based Treatment.
Dr. Fugitt holds strong clinical and personal values of compassion, acceptance, honesty, excellence, and diversity and inclusion. This is reflected in her client-centered work combining compassion and endearing acceptance with science based techniques to provide individualized, innovative and skillful treatment to her clients. She has experience working with people of many different gender identities and sexual orientations, races and ethnicities. She believes in helping clients enhance the person they already are through evidence-based therapy and compassionate support.
